KHIKS attorneys Dale Kinsella, Joshua Rosenberg, and Allen Secretov successfully defeated a motion for preliminary injunction against their client, the legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao, who also serves as a Senator in the Republic of the Philippines.
Pacquiao’s boxing manager Paradigm Sports Management filed a motion for preliminary injunction in Orange County, California Superior Court to stop Pacquiao’s upcoming mega-bout with Errol Spence, Jr. scheduled for August 21, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In a final ruling issued on Friday, August 6, 2021, the Court denied Paradigm Sports Management’s motion in its entirety, finding that its claims against Pacquiao had a low probability of success on the merits and that the balance of hardships weighed strongly in favor of Pacquiao.
Dale Kinsella commented: “As Senator Pacquiao correctly said after this lawsuit was filed in June, he has an absolute right to participate in the August 21 bout with Errol Spence. Today the Court agreed and resoundingly rejected Paradigm’s injunction publicity stunt in a strong and detailed decision. Senator Pacquiao looks forward to his bout with Mr. Spence on August 21.”
