Patricia Millett is a partner in the firm specializing in entertainment, intellectual property, and business litigation, with extensive trial and arbitration experience. Ms. Millett has handled a wide variety of contractual and rights disputes, and tort claims for clients in the music, film, television, and other industries.

In 2025, Ms. Millett was named by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal as one of its “Top Women Lawyers.” She was also named to Variety‘s 2025 “Legal Impact Report” and to the inaugural Lawdragon “500 Leading Global Entertainment, Sports & Media Lawyers” Guide. Ms. Millett has been named as one of “The Best Lawyers in America” each year since 2023, and has been repeatedly recognized as a “Super Lawyer” in Southern California Super Lawyers Magazine.

Representative Matters

Ms. Millett represented Mattel, Inc. in a 2.5-month jury trial, successfully defending against claims that Mattel misappropriated an idea for a television show, obtaining what was recognized by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal as one of the top defense verdicts for 2024.
Ms. Millett was part of the team that represented the family of late major league baseball pitcher Tyler Skaggs in a wrongful death case against the Los Angeles Angels baseball team that was tried for several months in Orange County Superior Court and settled during jury deliberations.
Ms. Millett represented a motion picture production company in a month-long jury trial in a contractual dispute with a former executive, where both sides asserted affirmative claims for relief.
Ms. Millett represented a talent manager in a multi-week arbitration against a major recording artist to enforce the manager’s rights under the management agreement with the artist.
Ms. Millett represented a famous recording artist in a bench trial defending claims in a real property dispute.
Ms. Millett represented the producers of a live Las Vegas revue in various disputes relating to the formation and ongoing operation of the business.
As part of teams led by the late Howard Weitzman, Ms. Millett represented the Estate of Michael Jackson in bench and jury trials defending claims asserted by Michael Jackson’s prior business managers.
Ms. Millett represented one of the founders of a natural foods grocery chain in an action alleging claims for breach of fiduciary duty and other torts against corporate management. The case was tried to a jury for six weeks in the Orange County Superior Court and settled during jury deliberations.
