KHIKS partner Chad Fitzgerald was quoted by E! Online in Leslie Gornstein’s article about the very public clash between new American Idol judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.
The article was in response to a question on E!‘s “Ask Anything” page where a reader wondered if the ladies’ contracts required them to “bring drama” to the show.
“Oftentimes the contracts are very broad and open-ended,” says Chad. “The language usually says that the talent will go along with producers’ reasonable instructions, and their direction.”
Bottomline, if a producer thinks the show needs a little extra pizzazz and suggests to a judge that she not always be so agreeable with the rest of the panel, the judge understands that her tenure may depend on the generation of a few sparks here and there.
