Larry Iser one of Daily Journal’s ‘75 Leading IP Lawyers in California’ for 2015

For the second time, KHIKS founding partner/managing partner Larry Iser has been selected by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal as one of the 75 Leading Intellectual Property Lawyers in California for 2015.

Well known for his dogged prosecution and defense in high-profile copyright and trademark infringement cases, the Daily Journal wrote about Larry’s recent defense of a longtime client in a trademark dispute. Larry’s nomination also included recent work for clients including actor Jason Patric, for whom Larry prevailed against a right of publicity claim, and Mattel, where Larry defeated a copyright challenge to Mattel’s ownership of its renowned Masters of the Universe brand, and for whom Larry won both at trial and on appeal defending a licensing dispute concerning the board game Outburst.

Larry is often called on by the media to explain why protecting artists’ musical creations is so important.  He even laid it all out on paper in his guest column for VideoInk, “If You Want to Use Someone’s Else’s Music, Get a License.”

Larry was previously honored by the Daily Journal after representing both Jackson Browne and David Byrne in their lawsuits against Sen. John McCain and former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, respectively, over the candidates’ failure to ask permission before using songs in their campaigns.
