Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephen Moloney agreed with KHIKS founding partner Larry Iser today in a ruling denying Danielle Schreiber’s request for a restraining order that would have prevented Larry’s client, actor Jason Patric, from using Schreiber and Patric’s son’s name and likeness in the media and in connection with the parental alienation advocacy group founded by Patric, “Stand Up For Gus.”
Judge Moloney held that an injunction against Patric would be an illegal “prior restraint” under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and the California Constitution.
Larry, who argued the case along with Patric’s family lawyer Fred Silberberg, commented: “Our country is founded upon the fundamental rights to speak freely and petition for causes, and the censorship sought by Ms. Schreiber is contrary to those fundamental values.”
