Coming off a landmark year of cases, KHIKS is a high-profile litigation firm specializing in the areas of entertainment, intellectual property, commercial disputes and criminal law. Fitzgerald continues to hone his practices in entertainment and business litigation; Steinsapir specializes in commercial litigation with expertise in new media and issues surrounding the Internet and intellectual property rights.

A graduate of UCLA Law, Fitzgerald brings a unique understanding of both transactional and litigation areas of law having formerly worked with Universal Pictures in the Legal Affairs department before joining KHIKS in early 2007. In his tenure at the litigation firm, Fitzgerald has groomed his expertise in the areas of entertainment, business, and IP litigation, having worked closely with Partners Dale Kinsella, Michael Kump and Lawrence Iser. He has represented actors, musicians, professional athletes, and production and distribution entities, as well as clients in the toy, apparel, and diamond industries, entertainment guilds, personal and business managers, and talent agents and agencies. Fitzgerald is regularly sought as an expert in his field and has written for well-known publications including Creative Screenwriting Magazine, Intellectual Property Today, MovieMaker Magazine, and The Huffington Post.
Jonathan Steinsapir, a graduate of UCLA Law, brings a wide range of expertise in intellectual property and other complex litigation. He started his legal career as a law clerk to the Hon. Cynthia Holcomb Hall of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and then clerked for Judge Margaret Morrow of the Central District of California. Having worked primarily with Partners Howard Weitzman, Lawrence Iser and Michael Kump, Steinsapir has cultivated his expertise across IP issues including patent, copyright and trademark matters along with contract cases involving licensing and output agreements. His clients include global corporations such as Roland Corporation and Starz Entertainment. Most recently, Steinsapir was part of the successful trial team representing Jamie McCourt in connection with the dispute regarding ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers. At trial, KHIKS obtained a complete victory for Mrs. McCourt when the Court invalidated an alleged agreement that would have deprived her of her co-ownership interest in the Dodgers in derogation of California’s community property laws. Steinsapir was also part of the team that obtained summary judgment in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in a case against the Estate of Michael Jackson alleging that Jackson had reneged on a contract to perform a family reunion concert. He continues to represent the Jackson Estate in numerous active matters. Steinsapir played an integral role in the groundbreaking copyright infringement case filed against John McCain and the RNC on behalf of Jackson Browne. Steinsapir has been cited in The Hollywood Reporter, The Huffington Post, the Daily Journal, and MovieMaker Magazine.
Fitzgerald and Steinsapir have each been recognized as ‘Rising Stars’ on multiple occasions by Los Angeles Magazine.
