KHIKS Partners Michael Kump and Suann MacIsaac have filed a countersuit on behalf of The Mandel Company dba The Management Group alleging that its former client Johnny Depp is solely responsible for his poor financial situation.
According to TMG’s complaint, the management company “did everything within its power over the last 17 years to protect Depp from himself and to keep Depp financially solvent.” While Depp claimed that he was kept in the dark about his finances, TMG asserts it repeatedly warned Depp that he could not afford the ultra-extravagant lifestyle the actor had become accustomed to. KHIKS is seeking more than $560,000 in unpaid commissions and credit card fees for TMG, as well as a court declaration that the company “complied with all of its fiduciary obligations under the law and that Depp is responsible for his own financial waste.”
