KHIKS Partners Aaron Liskin and Nick Soltman File Profit Lawsuit on Behalf of Dave Erickson

KHIKS partners Aaron Liskin and Nick Soltman recently filed a profit participation lawsuit against AMC on behalf of Fear the Walking Dead creator and showrunner, Dave Erickson.

The complaint accuses the network of breach of contract, fraudulent misrepresentation and breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and alleges that AMC structured Erickson’s backend definition in a way that prevents him from ever seeing profit from the hugely popular show. Despite the series’ tremendous success and the tens of millions of dollars paid to other participants, Erickson hasn’t received any money from AMC for creating and running the show.

The suit challenges AMC’s accounting practices, including its imputed license fee and treatment of costs, and seeks to place Erickson on equal footing with other talent who received improved participation definitions.

The following articles also note KHIKS’ prominent track record in high-stakes entertainment participation matters, including its landmark representation of The Walking Dead creator and client Frank Darabont against AMC, which was settled for $200M in 2021.
