The firm is pleased to announce that the Los Angeles Daily Journal has named Kate Mangels to its annual list of the “Top Women Lawyers” in California. Kate was selected to the coveted list for her representation of high-profile clients alongside partner Shawn Holley, including actor Shia LaBeouf and former L.A. Dodgers starting pitcher Trevor Bauer. In one matter, Kate and Shawn represented Mr. Bauer to oppose a domestic violence restraining order over an alleged 2021 sexual assault, even though Mr. Bauer wanted no relationship with his accuser.
“The reason it was so important for our client to fight it was because there were inflammatory allegations made in her filing, which were picked up by certain media outlets,” Kate told the Daily Journal. “It was important to set the record straight with respect to those issues.”
