Santa Monica, CA – January 1, 2023 – Entertainment powerhouse law firm Kinsella Holley Iser Kump Steinsapir LLP (KHIKS) proudly announces that Kate Mangels and Allen Secretov have become Partners of the Firm.
Ms. Mangels represents companies and individuals in high-stakes, complex civil and criminal matters, including white collar criminal matters. Ms. Mangels has made numerous court appearances and drafted successful motions for clients to participate in diversion programs to avoid criminal prosecution. Working alongside name partner Shawn Holley, Ms. Mangels worked to obtain the dissolution of a temporary restraining order against Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer, which led to the decision made by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office to decline criminal charges against Bauer in early 2022. Ms. Mangels was also part of the team that arbitrated with Major League Baseball on behalf of Mr. Bauer, which resulted in the lifting of Mr. Bauer’s suspension and his immediate reinstatement.
Mr. Secretov litigates entertainment, intellectual property and business matters. He represents athletes, actors, musicians, comedians, authors, NFT artists and numerous companies in a variety of industries. Mr. Secretov was a member of the KHIKS team representing producer/songwriters Justin Raisen, Jeremiah Raisen, and Justin “Yves” Rothman in a highly publicized federal district court lawsuit brought by Lizzo over the hit song “Truth Hurts.” Mr. Secretov was also a member of the KHIKS team defeating a claim to enjoin legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao from fighting in the most anticipated boxing match of 2021. And Mr. Secretov represents acclaimed reality television production company Kinetic Content in disputes relating to its hit series “Married at First Sight” and “Love Is Blind.”
