Jonathan Steinsapir was recently featured in Fox News Digitial’s article “AI has Keanu Reeves, Harrison Ford and Elon Musk’s ex-girlfriend Grimes at odds over its use,” which discusses the uncertainties facing the entertainment industry with the rise of artificial intelligence.
While the usage of AI is relatively new, the article highlights Keanu Reeves as a forefront leader in the industry’s adaptation of this technology. Reeves’ contracts include clauses that prevent the use of digital manipulation without his consent. Jon explains why the “John Wick” actor and others are implementing these protections, saying, “As to why you would want to prevent it, I think it’s just one more, one more protection. If you have a right to prevent use of your image or use of your, you know, voice. … If you have a right to prevent that, that means that if someone wants to do it, they have to pay you to do it.” He continues to explain, “So the reason to do it would be … economics so that you could exploit that in the future. And the second reason, obviously, is because you want to control. … What you put out there is used as a moral, you know, as a moral matter.”
