KHIKS partner Shawn Holley recently addressed students, faculty and staff from her alma mater, Southwestern Law School, as she told them about her unexpected path into criminal law, beginning as a public defender and later thrust onto a national stage just six months after joining her first law firm, with the defense of O.J. Simpson.
Later, when a nationally renowned entertainment lawyer asked her to join his firm, she learned (for the second time) that being qualified for a certain job doesn’t always mean you’ve had specific experience in that particular role.
