KHIKS is proud to announce that it has been named to the Daily Journal honor roll of “Top Boutiques” in California for 2015. As the only firm named in the Entertainment (litigation) category, KHIKS is spotlighted for its high-profile clientele: “Few boutiques can claim a client roster quite like the one at Kinsella Holley Iser Kump Steinsapir LLP.”
Starting with the Estate of Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber and Walking Dead creator Frank Darabont, the list of KHIKS clients reads like a Who’s Who of Hollywood. When Two and a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre was sued for $100 million by series star Charlie Sheen, Lorre turned to KHIKS for help.
Co-founder Howard Weitzman boiled it down to the essence of lawyering when he said he believes the firm’s success is simply its ability to resolve problems. “A lot of the clients we represent are pretty high profile and can afford fees, but they want it done in the most practical and quickest way. Sometimes bigger firms require more staffing, and more time by the attorneys to get to a certain spot. We can do a lot of that quicker and in a more favorable way.”
Co-founding and managing partner Larry Iser calls KHIKS law the “California dream” when he says, “It’s really fun to come here and I still wake up in the mornings and I’m excited to come to work. We have very exciting cases, always new clients and interesting matters.” Larry believes the firm practices at the sweet spot of entertainment and intellectual property, including cutting-edge profit participation, intellectual property and class action cases.
KHIKS is honored to be a part of “the most exciting development in the legal industry in recent years: the rise of smaller, often hyper-focused law firms,” as the Daily Journal puts it.
